Get ready for an unforgettable 14-day motorcycle adventure from Hanoi to Saigon! We've specially designed this route to blend adventure, historic landmarks, and coastal relaxation all in one single journey.

Revel in the bustling streets and lofty terraces of Hanoi. Follow the historic footsteps of the Vietnamese Army along the winding Ho Chi Minh Trail. Soak in awe-inspiring views of the Gulf of Tonkin, the terraced rice fields of Pu Luong,  and the South China Sea. Our "North to South" tour is 14 adventure-filled days of exploration through ancient cities, national parks, beaches, citadels, tombs, and caves. 

This route offers a diverse sampling of paved terrain from smooth highways to winding mountain passes and serene coastal roads. Get up close and personal with local cultures while exploring UNESCO World Heritage sites, crossing lush countryside, and unwinding on pristine beaches.

Itinerary

DAY 1: Arrival Day Hanoi

Welcome to Hanoi! Our staff will come pick you up in a private shuttle at the airport and take you to your hotel right in the center of the city!

Take some time to explore the colorful alleyways or enjoy resting at the hotel before the welcome dinner.

DAY 2: Hanoi – Pu Luong Village (180km)

8:30 AM meet at your hotel and transfer by bus to the bike Garage. After we will have a brief safety meeting, get familiar with the bikes, and then head out for our first day in riding Vietnam!

We'll start off with easy pavement out of Hanoi and an afternoon full of narrow twisty mountain roads along the beautiful lake Ba Khan.

Afterwords we connect with the historical route n6 all the way downhill to the nature reserve of Pu Luong.

Dinner and overnight at a beautiful small resort with a spectacular view over the hundred-step rice field terraces.

Day 3: Pu Luong – Con Cuong (270km)

Today we continue our ride on narrow concrete routes through local villages, rice field terraces, bridges, and bamboo forests.

We'll stop for some traditional food at a local restaurant, then we take the historical Chi Minh road until Con Cuong, a small town located in the western mountain range that shares its borders with Laos.

Day 4: Con Cuong – Phong Nha (280km)

Riding smooth paved Ho Chi Minh road all the way to Phong Nha – Ke Bang, the biggest and most beautiful cave in Vietnam and Indochina. It’s now a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.

Traditional local lunch on route, and an early arrival to Phong Nha to give us time to hop on a boat and explore the Son River and its giant Phong Nha Cave.

Day 5: Phong Nha – Khe Sanh (250km)

Today's for the historians with a full day ride on the famous Western Ho Chi Minh Trail towards the former DMZ where South and North Vietnam were divided during the war. Easy smooth and spectacular route with lots of hills and twisties to enjoy.

Day 6: Khe Sanh – Hue (190km)

Ready to hit the coast! We head all the way downhill toward the coastal region. A day with many stops to visit the historical sites left from the Vietnam War. (Border between North and South Vietnam, Vinh Moc underground tunnels)

Beautiful ride along the coast and through the rice farming region until the beautiful city of Hue (Former capital of Vietnam) which lies along the banks of the Perfume River.

Day 7: Hue – Hoi An (160km)

In the morning we pay a visit to the old Citadel and King’s Tomb, then hop on a boat to explore the Perfume River.

Return to the hotel for check out and continue the ride to Hoi An. In the Afternoon we'll ride through rice fields and fishing villages, then discover the oldest and most beautiful cemetery in Vietnam,

Special dinner in Hoi An and overnight at a beautiful boutique hotel.

Day 8: Hoi An (Rest Day)

Quick walking tour of Hoi An in the morning and a group lunch. On your own to continue exploring the ancient city of Hoi An.

Day 9: Hoi An – Kon Tum (296km)

Today we leave the lowlands and head up to the western highland region. 

This spectacular twisty section of the road, western Ho Chi Minh, holds many stories that the tour leader will explain along the way. Many stops to enjoy the spectacular views on mountain passes before we arrive at Kon Tum, the country of the highland people.

Day 10: Kon Tum – Buon Me Thuot (230km)

Another ride day full of beautiful highland mountain passes and valley views, discovering the daily life of the highland people along the border of Cambodia. We'll ride along the coffee, rubber tree,  and cashew nuts farming lands, and test our skills boarding a local long boat to cross the river.

Lunch in a local restaurant near the elephant lake. Arrive in Buon Me Thuot in the afternoon.

Day 11: Buon Me Thuot – Mui Ne (300km)

Leaving the highland, we ride today all the way down to the coast by following the Langbiang mountains range. On this route we will see pine tree forest and farms growing green pepper and cashew nuts.

Today's ride will be full of hundreds of fun twists and turns until Mui Ne, a beautiful town located by the sea.

Day 12: Mui Ne (Rest Day)

After all that riding your going to love this tropical beach location.

Spend the day relaxing and enjoying the most beautiful beach of Southern Vietnam, or if you still want to put some more miles in there's an optional 4x4 tour to enjoy the nearby dunes.

Day 13: Mui Ne – Saigon (200km)

Today we'll take small coastal roads all the way to our end point. Here we will say goodbye to the bikes and take a quick shuttle to our hotel in Saigon. At this point we will have our farewell dinner.

Day 14: Departure Day Saigon

Welcome to Saigon! Stay a few more days if you'd like however if you must go our staff will take you to the airport before your scheduled departure time.

Not being properly prepared can lead to injuires that could have been avoided. Our guides have created a Minimum Essential Gear Guide if you plan to book a RIDE Adventures. If you don't come minimally prepared there is a chance our guides will prevent you from hopping on a bike. Make sure you're prepared for the adventure.
