MOTORCYCLE RENTALS FOR ADVENTURES IN ARGENTINA

Of the two countries that make up Patagonia (Chile & Argentina), which side has the most scenic riding? Well, that depends on if you're riding in the north or in the south, so be sure to inquire with us about the best use of your riding vacation plans. Part of our service is making sure you're experiencing the highest percentage of jaw-dropping scenery and riding possible.

Our Chile-based motorcycle rentals can be used to cross the border of Argentina and Chile without a problem. *Please note that at this time, our Service Locations are all in Chile, so you'll want to look at Santiago/SCL airport for your International flight needs.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: The Patagonia riding season is only about from October through April, and our bikes can be sold 6-8 months in advance. Be sure to reserve as far in advance as possible!

Another recent assertion by Honda Motorcycles into the Adventure Riding world, riders seeking a compact-sized adventure bike have been raving about the CB500X. BMW F750GS

BMW F750GS

Not everyone needs a gigantic adventure bike to have fun, and the BMW F750GS fills that niche of "big enough for the long haul, small enough to have fun." With a power-to-weight ratio similar to the bigger models, 77hp can be used to hang with any other adventure bike on the market and perhaps be even more fun when it comes to the dirt roads and tight switchbacks.

When it's predecessor launched in 2009, the world recognized the beauty of a "middle-weight" adventure bike, perhaps most appropriately built to handle it all. The new BMW F850GS builds on a decade of riders trotting the globe on a machine with all the power you could ever need, and agility to go have almost dirt-bike-like fun when the luggage and passenger aren't along for the ride.

BMW R1200GS Adventure (2014+ Liquid Cooled)

BMW R1200GS Adventure (2014+ Liquid Cooled)

Just a year after releasing the Liquid Cooled R1200GS, BMW's famous Adventure model or "GSA" was introduced, and for all the right reasons. Like its predecessor, the "GSA LC" as we tend to call it boasts 125 liquid cooled horsepower and has the fuel capacity and carrying capability to make the longest and most remote adventures a reality. At the same time, it's still a thrill when in tight mountain switchbacks and twisties!

Freshly updated after multiple generations of industry-leading design, BMW's R1250GS is yet another masterpiece coming from the company that many will claim pioneered the thought of adventure riding. Boasting 136hp now, yet still maintaining the "flickability" many of us feel in the GS line, load up the bike or head out solo, and you're sure to have a blast from this high performance machine.

FAQS

Where do I fly to for a motorcycle rental in Argentina?

As of now, all our points of service for Patagonia motorcycle rentals are on the Chilean side of the border, although our bikes can be ridden into Argentina and other countries if you wish. Please see the list of start/finish cities on this page, and inquire directly with us if you have questions about which airports to use for each location.

Am I a good enough motorcycle rider to handle Argentina?

The riding on either the “Patagonia Experience” or “Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego & Ushuaia!” routes can for the 2015/16 season should be about 60/40 paved vs. non-paved, and the helmet camera footage on this link should help you visualize what it’s like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcEGsgyKS18 - On these routes, you won’t be stuck in the rocky section at 1:20, or the part at the end with the cows, but that should help explain that it’s mostly hard-packed gravel that can be soft and unstable at times, too (like if they just put in fresh gravel to keep the road in shape.) So, to keep up with the exact itinerary you see online, you’ll probably want to ride 50+mph occasionally on gravel.

The other major factor at times in Patagonia can be just the wind and weather. It's important to be prepared for temperatures from 40F to 90F (depending on how far south you go, which month, etc.) and the often-present high winds, in particular on the Argentina side of the border. Please inquire further with us to discuss whether your riding skills and background are enough to handle Patagonia, although in the end, the decision to try it is entirely each rider's responsibility.
