Hands down, the highlight of most every Peruvian adventure is a journey to the mystical heights of Macchu Picchu. However, to reach its summit requires travel measures largely excluding motorcycle routes. So aside from motorcycling the jungle, a backwoods tour from Cusco to the end of Manu National Park might be just what adventure riding enthusiasts are looking for.
Leaving Cusco, begin your journey just northeast of the city and ride along the fabled Sacred Valley. These winding back-valley dirt roads encompass ancient Incan ruins and rural Quechua villages. Outside these clusters, you will glimpse farmers wearing traditional clothing as they work the terraced

Not going to lie here:  The fact that people are choosing to "Ride the World" on Self-Guided Motorcycle Trips seem to be all the rage right now.

I just realized something: I wasn't even sweating during this video take!  (See video below.)  Just me and an iPhone on the side of a road with full motorcycle padding on in 105F/40C degree temperatures in the middle of July in northern California.  Guess this says something about the Macna Dry Cooling Vest.

The BMW MOA 2013 Rally this past week was a blast, but riders who stopped by the RIDE Adventures booth weren't only asking about the motorcycle travel and vacation options we offer.  Questions about "the best dual sport tire" came up frequently.

My recommendations on motorcycle gear only come on the heels of actual experience with each product.  In this case, the Alpinestars Tech 10 boot deserves all the praise and recommendation a motorcycle boot could possibly get.

Thanks to the generosity and Trip Reporting of Mark Larson, we get to see the rest of what happened on Mark and Joe's self-guided Patagonia trip from earlier this year.

There they were in El Calafate, Argentina on a Patagonia Motorcycle Trip and trying to fix a leak Mark's bike suffered after having a tie-down strap get caught up in the rear axle seal. The town of El Calafate is only a town of about 20,000 people, so BMW parts & service aren't an option.
