Have you noticed that BMW motorcycle rentals seem to make up the majority of the rental options around the world? This fact is not without reason, as the BMW brand seems to grow with popularity each year. While this posting might seem like a paid advertisement by the German motorcycle manufacturer, we assure you, such is not the case. In fact, we'd like to point out that their designs are far from flawless, and each model released each year seems to have been plagued by at least a couple of "routine issues." In general though, we think that the BMW motorcycle options are amongst the very best, and here are a few reasons why:
You've got options! - BMW motorcycle designs are exceptional to begin with, and with so many models to choose from, there's a bike for every rider, every ride, and every situation. Going on a pavement-only cross-country trip this summer? Consider a bike like the K1600GTL or the famous boxer engined R1200RT. With features like adjustable windshields, heated seats, and Electronic Suspension Adjustment, riding two-up or solo, you'll be in perfect comfort the entire way. Or, your schedule has finally cleared, and now you need the best adventure bike to set out across multiple continents on? The R1200GS or F800GS should be at the top of a short list of options, as their carrying and dual sport capabilities will be essential for the ultimate adventure trip.
Athletic Ability - Despite making what might be the ultimate in "luxury" motorcycles (two notables mentioned above) each BMW motorcycle maintains a considerable amount of "athletic" ability. What do we mean by that? Even those models like that are designed for long distance comfort and cruising maintain an extremely high level of agility. From acceleration to braking ability, and left and right turning, even the biggest BMW motorcycles are quite agile (especially in comparison to some of their similarly comfortable and heavy competitors.) What can this mean to you? Safety. Motorcycle Safety. The faster and more controlled you can move your bike in any direction, the safer you'll be on a motorcycle as you're able to evade or avoid potential harm.
Parts & Service Network - One of the world's largest motorcycle brands, BMW sure does have a considerable parts network available for us. So if you're planning on taking your BMW across the country or out of your country, relax knowing that you're pretty well covered in the case of service or parts needs. This is not the blanket truth, as the logistics behind parts shipping and customs clearance do not always mean you can get rapid service on all continents, but generally speaking, the BMW motorcycle brand has you better covered than some other motorcycle manufacturers.
Owner's Network - Speaking of parts and service needs, did you know that buying a new BMW motorcycle means you get access to their "Owner's Anonymous" book and one of the strongest brand followings in the world? Around the world, other BMW motorcycle owners have pooled their information together to make sure you've always got a fellow rider nearby with parts, tools, or general help readily available. Keep that Owner's Anonymous book handy, and you're also likely to stumble across all the great BMW Motorcycle Clubs and organizations. Some hosting international rallies annually, and others just hosting monthly rides or meetings, BMW owners clubs are amongst the most loyal and active motorcycle owners in the world.
Please feel free to contact us any time whether you're looking for an opportunity to rent a BMW motorcycle, or if you'd just like to ask about our experiences with BMW motorcycles. As they have made up most of the bikes we've relied on for our motorcycle tours, our extensive experience with this brand might be able to help you in an upcoming buying situation. Many riders are taking advantage of a BMW motorcycle rental in places like South America so they can really test the bikes out before buying!
